As food and wine are passions of mine, I have become a very good home chef. Along with friends, I have taken a number of cooking classes to hone my skills, and amazingly enough much of the skills focus not only on cooking skills but organization and process. I also had the opportunity to be in a number of professional kitchens and was a "chef for a Day" at the old Charlie Trotters restaurant in Chicago. Making a proper Mis en Plac of all the ingredients and making each dish in the right order from prep to finish is key to all the components being ready at the same time.
